Legendary Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga has spoken on the pressure that is on the players at Inter and how that differs to the pressures that players of other clubs find themselves under.

“Everyone would like to win but the pressures that a team like Inter have are different from other teams. The results can be seen in the end, having drawn away from home with Atalanta is not bad,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva, earlier on today.

Zenga then went on to speak about Inter manager Antonio Conte and shared his beliefs on what the former Juventus and Italian national team boss must do.

“If I had said the words he said I would have been shot. He must go his own way, without making a mess. A coach sees things differently from the critics. There are times when you produce a lot but collect little, then maybe a victory is enough and you turn the season around.”

He was then asked about Serie A and who he believes the favourites to win the Scudetto are: “Favourite for the Scudetto? Juve are the favourite and Inter are the second favourite. It is a season that will remain open.”

In conclusion Zenga was asked about his own future with him currently out of work since leaving his post as Cagliari boss at the end of last season.

“I’m in Dubai, far from the Inter events and right now I don’t think about returning to Italy. With COVID-19 you can not do anything, it is useless for me to move. There are many good coaches in Italy, even in the lower leagues who need to be followed and helped. The Italian coaching school is always the best.”

Zenga is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers to have ever represented Inter. Zenga came through the academy ranks and spent 16 years of his senior career with the Nerazzurri, during wish time he made 473 appearances across all competitions.
