Inter have more players away on national team duty (16) than any other club in Serie A do right now according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter are worried about the safety and health of their players and are upset that so many are away on national team duty given how little time they had to rest between end of last season and start of this one.
Romelu Lukaku for example has not had a proper opportunity to rest since the end of last season as he was right into national team duty just days after the Europa League final.
Inter manager Antonio Conte’s staff have spoken to all 16 national team players and have recommended to them to be careful and want a special report on the kind of training they are undergoing to be able to control, if possible, how the players are training from a distance.
They’ve also told players to minimise media engagements whilst with national teams.
The ball is now in the court of Alexis Sanchez and all of the other Inter players away on national team duty.
