Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez should start alongside each other in Inter’s first game back after the international break against Torino according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Barring any hitches, the duo will start alongside one another for the first time since against Genoa on October 24, the report from the Rome based news outlet explains.
Lukaku and Lautaro are two of 16 Inter players away on national team duty which will be particularly exhausting for the Inter players, especially Lautaro.
Lautaro will return to Inter’s training ground next Thursday following national team duty and will be subjected to a swab test for COVID-19 and provided he returns a negative result, he will be able to train from the following day, which comes two days before the game at San Siro.
Whilst the report states that barring any hitches it will be Lukaku and Lautaro who start versus Torino, it does explain that it could be the case that Lukaku’s partner will be whoever is the least tired between Lautaro and Alexis Sanchez.
