Italian Journalist Massimo Marianella: “Inter Are 2 Different Sides With & Without Romelu Lukaku”

Italian football journalist Massimo Marianella has shared his belief that Inter are a completely different team when they are without talisman Romelu Lukaku compared to what they are like when he is in the side.

Since joining Inter in the Summer of 2019, the Belgian national team player has been the focal point of the Nerazzurri attack and has often been able to put the team on his back and get results.

The 27-year-old former Manchester United forward has scored a sensational 41 goals in 59 appearances since joining Inter and has cemented himself as one of the most lethal strikers on the planet.

“Inter with and without Lukaku are two different Inter’s and that does not just go for this year,” Marianella explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, on Tuesday afternoon.

“All the great teams have a point of reference but it is surprising to say this especially for Inter who have made many signings to strengthen the team.”

Marianella also revealed that he was expecting more from this Inter side and also revealed that he is not entirely convinced by two of the Summer transfer window recruits in Aleksandar Kolarov and Arturo Vidal.

“I expected Inter to be more overwhelming and dominant at the start of the season but they lost Lukaku and have many players to put together in the project. I am not so convinced by Kolarov in the back three, whilst Vidal has to be given time but he has never been at 100% since the beginning of the year.”
