Inter, like a number of other Serie A clubs, have real anxiety for their players away with the Croatian national team after Domagoj Vida played 45 minutes of a match whilst positive for COVID-19 according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bestikas central defender learned of his positivity during the friendly match against Turkey a few nights ago and whilst the Turkish team have all returned negative results, there is a lot of anxiousness as the test results for the Croatian national team are yet to arrive.

All of them were subjected to testing yesterday and the results are expected to arrive today. There is particular concern for Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, with images of himself and Vida with their arms around one another having been posted online.

The report goes on to explain that the Croatian football federation claimed that all test results ahead of the Turkey game were negative and Vida’s positive result was part of the testing done ahead of the match versus Sweden.

Inter are in constant contact with the Croatian national team doctor, who is also the head of the UEFA Covid commission.
