Lautaro Martinez will refuse to sign a new contract with Inter unless the €111 million release clause in his current contract remains according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Sport.

Inter are at work trying to tie the highly rated 23-year-old down to a new deal and wish to remove the release clause but Lautaro is unwilling to negotiate the removal of the release clause.

The two parties are still no closer to coming to an agreement over a new deal and Barcelona are constantly being updated.

Barcelona have long been after the Argentine national team player and although their last attempt to sign him collapsed, their relations with both the player and his agents remain good.

Conversations between Barcelona and Lautaro’s agents have continued and the Blaugrana would like to keep things open for the incoming president, who will also appoint a new sporting director.

Lautaro currently earns around €2 million a year at Inter and Inter have offered him a new deal worth €6 million a year on the condition the release clause is removed. Lautaro has meanwhile said no to this and is waiting for their next move.
