Belgium coach Roberto Martinez spoke about whether Inter striker Romelu Lukaku would play in the Red Devils’ upcoming Nations League game against England when speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference. His words were noted by Belgian media outlet Het Laatste Nieuws.

“We will see today in training. The signals are good, he’s worked hard. We are optimistic that only Doky, Boyata and Dendoncker are in doubt.”

The 27-year-old Lukaku, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has been suffering from an injury to his left thigh, that has already forced him to miss the games against Parma and Real Madrid.

The former Manchester United forward has been training individually since Thursday, working hard to make himself available for the game against England, a key Nations League clash.

Lukaku has made eight appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 621 minutes. In that time, he has scored seven goals, driving Antonio Conte’s Inter as a leader on the pitch.

The Milanese club are hoping that the 27-year-old Belgian will not exacerbate his injury during this international break.
