Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will return to Milan via a private plane after yesterday’s positive Covid-19 diagnosis, according to an official announcement by the Croatian FA, as reported by FcInterNews.

The report details how the 27-year-old Croatian midfielder tested positive for the virus yesterday, ahead of today’s clash against Sweden.

The player, who is the 8th Inter player to test positive for Covid-19, has already been isolated from the rest of the Croatian national team and will now spend at least 10 days in quarantine in Milan, waiting to return for the Nerazzurri.

Brozovic, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has made 10 appearances across all competitions so far this season under coach Antonio Conte, for a total of 587 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal, helping the side secure a point against Parma in the 2-2 draw.

Inter are hoping that the 27-year-old Croatian will be able to feature against Real Madrid in the Champions League in 11 days’ time.
