Inter wing back Achraf Hakimi impressed for Morocco yesterday but suffered an injury after an hour, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 22-year-old Moroccan wing back, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2025, scored the opening goal for his national team in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic, impressing throughout the first half.

Hakimi was one of the best players on the pitch, but was forced off after an hour, the report continues, after suffering a strong challenge.

The first impressions are that the injury is painful enough to require a bandage, but is only a contusion to the thigh, and is not a serious injury.

The 22-year-old Hakimi, who joined from Spanish side Real Madrid in a deal worth around €40 million this summer, has scored one goal and provided two appearances in nine appearances so far this season.
