Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is the eighth Nerazzurri player to test positive for Covid-19, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 27-year-old Croatian midfielder, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022, tested positive for the virus yesterday, ahead of Croatia’s clash against Sweden today.

Compatriot and teammate Ivan Perisic tested negative for the contagion, although this could change over the next few days considering Covid’s incubation period.

Inter have already had to deal with several positive players, the report continues, with two coming from international duty, defender Alessandro Bastoni and Slovakian Milan Skriniar.

Other players tested positive for Covid in Appiano Gentile, with Roberto Gagliardini, Radja Nainggolan, Ionut Radu and Ashley Young all catching to virus in that period.

Achraf Hakimi suffered a false positive test earlier this season that forced him to miss the Champions League clash against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Finally, the other Nerazzurri player fighting Covid-19 is backup keeper Daniele Padelli.
