Inter coach Antonio Conte can smile watching Arturo Vidal carry Chile to a win against Peru earlier this week, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the former Barcelona midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, scored a brace for Chile in their World Cup qualifier against Peru earlier this week, with one of the goals being a stunning long-range strike.
The player was a decisive leader on the pitch for Chile and dominated the midfield, in addition to his two goals.
Conte can smile, knowing the type of player that the 33-year-old Chilean is, even if he hasn’t shown it fully in Milan yet.
Vidal is still working on adapting fully to Conte’s tactical system, but he is set to play an important role throughout the season, appearing in every game so far this season and starting in eight of them.
