Inter defender Milan Skriniar discussed Slovakia’s 1-0 win over Scotland earlier tonight in an interview after the game, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“We had a good and combative performance, with great commitment. Already on Wednesday we did well, today it all worked out.

“I’m glad that we didn’t concede any goals. Everything works well with Lubomir Satka, we help each other, I think we had a good performance. Today we all fought as one. We still have something to play for.”

The 25-year-old Slovakian defender, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made three appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 259 minutes.

The player suffered from Covid-19 last month, forcing him to miss seven games across the league and Champions League.

Skriniar was close to a move to Premier League side Tottenham in the summer transfer window, but a deal never materialised after Spurs refused to pay the Nerazzurri’s requested price.

The 25-year-old Inter defender made his 33rd cap for Slovakia, making his debut in 2016.

Slovakia are currently bottom of League B Group 2 of the Nations League, sitting on four points. Today’s win against Scotland was their first so far in the competition, and they could still look to fight for 3rd place.
