Inter wing back Achraf Hakimi is at risk of exacerbating a slightly injured thigh if he features against the Central African Republic next week, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 22-year-old Moroccan wing back, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2025, suffered a thigh contusion earlier this week, after a painful clash with the Central African Republic’s goalkeeper.

Hakimi’s injury could get worse if he is forced to play in a short time, the report continues, and so the Nerazzurri are hoping that Morocco coach Vahid Halilhodzic will not risk deploying the 22-year-old.

Inter were one of many clubs that were unhappy with the international break, due to the lack of rest given to the players, the busy schedule and the risks because of Covid-19 and injuries.

Hakimi has scored one goal and provided two assists in nine appearances so far this season.
