Marco Fossati, vice-captain of Serie B side Monza, discussed his past as an Inter youth player in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It was exciting to go back to Pinetina, I relived the years when I was training with Inter with Mancini and Mourinho, after an afternoon that makes me want to play in Serie A even more.

“For me it is a source of huge satisfaction to play for Berlusconi and Galliani’s team, but being at Monza is also a personal pride.

“I am from Monza and I have always dreamed of wearing these colors and wearing them for the first time in the top league.”

Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza are currently 9th in Serie B after six games played, sitting on nine points. A win could see them rise as high as 6th in the table.

The team are fighting for back to back promotions, after rising from Serie C last campaign. This season, they have won twice, drawn three times and lost once.

Antonio Conte’s Inter are currently 7th in Serie A after seven games played, sitting on 12 points. The Milanese side are one points behind rivals Juventus, who are in 5th, and five points behind league leaders AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri haven’t fared better in Europe, failing to win a single time in the Champions League after three games. They have drawn against Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Monchengladbach, and lost against Real Madrid.
