Torino coach Marco Giampaolo has tested positive for Covid-19, ruling him out of the Granata’s next game against Inter, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how the 53-year-old Italian coach, who was in charge of AC Milan last season, tested positive for the virus earlier today, forcing him to enter quarantine.

Giampaolo will not be able to oversee Torino’s upcoming Serie A clash against Inter next weekend, the report continues, as he will be stuck in isolation, waiting for a negative test.

He joins current Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli, who also tested positive for the contagion earlier this week.

Inter have suffered heavily from the effects of Covid as well, with Marcelo Brozovic’s positive test earlier this week making him become the 8th Nerazzurri player to suffer from the contagion.

Italian midfielder Roberto Gagliardini was forced to return home from the Azzurri training camp after returning an inconclusive test yesterday.
