Italian journalist Stefano Cecchi expressed his disappointment in Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radio Sportiva yesterday.

“It’s his fault, not Conte’s. When he played, he was invisible, a total failure. The coach even changed the formation for him.”

The 28-year-old Eriksen, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, publicly complained about his lack of playing time with the Milanese club when speaking to the Danish media last week, angering Inter and coach Antonio Conte.

The former Tottenham midfielder has struggled to adapt to Conte’s tactical system since his arrival from Spurs in the January transfer window, disappointing considering that he cost €20 million and earns around €7.5 million net per season, which can rise up to around €10 million.

Eriksen has made seven appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 301 minutes.

In that time, he has failed to make a big impact for the Milanese side and did not impress the 51-year-old Italian coach.

The Nerazzurri are now prepared to sell Eriksen in the upcoming January transfer window.
