Samir Handanovic is at risk of losing his role as starting goalkeeper at Inter next season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The veteran shot-stopper’s current contract is due to expire at the end of this season but there is already an agreement in place between the Slovenian and Inter over an extension until the end of next season.

There is however no guarantee that the former Udinese player will be the club’s number one next term. His performances in the early part of this season have left a lot to be desired and depending on his performances between now and the end of the season will determine whether he remains the starter.

Whilst Handanovic has not played very badly and has only made one serious mistake, he has not went above and beyond this season.

The report goes on to conclude that Inter will evaluate Ionut Andrei Radu, Filip Stankovic and Michele Di Gregorio to possibly inherit the starting role from Handanovic.
