Inter are closely monitoring the situation of Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Dutch national team player’s contract with the reigning Premier League champions is due to expire at the end of this season and Inter are not alone in keeping tabs on the former Newcastle United player, who could be acquired for nothing next Summer provided he does not sign a contract extension.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both understood to have an interest in the 30-year-old and the report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to add that Inter will make an offer to Wijnaldum.

The former PSV Eindhoven player has been in Merseyside since the Summer of 2016 and has represented the Reds on 199 occasions across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 19 goals and tallied 16 assists. This season he has made 13 appearances but hasn’t made any goal contributions.
