Legendary Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca has shared his belief that current Inter number one Samir Handanovic is no longer the player that he once was.

The veteran Slovenian shot-stopper’s performances this season have not been up to the high standards he has set during his spell with Inter and Pagliuca has shared his belief that whilst Handanovic was great prior to the 2019/20 season being postponed, he has not been fantastic in the early stages of this season.

“Pre-lockdown he was huge, from March to April he has been more vulnerable,” Pagliuca explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast earlier on today.

“He still remains a great goalkeeper, but the average shots saved has dropped a lot, he is no longer the same even with low shots. He is no longer the same Handanovic as before.”

Handanovic has been with Inter since the Summer of 2012 and has since made 352 appearances across all competitions to date for the club, during which he has kept 124 clean sheets.

This season the former Lazio goalkeeper, who is contracted to Inter until the end of this season, has made 10 appearances, in which he has conceded 16 goals and kept just two clean sheets.
