Sassuolo and Italian national team midfielder Manuel Locatelli has sang the praises of national team teammate Nicolo Barella.

“Barella is a great player, I’ve always said that,” Locatelli explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was broadcast yesterday afternoon.

Locatelli then went on to speak about what he feels is Barella’s greatest strength as a player: “I believe that his strength is the humility that has always distinguished him since he was a child, since I have known him.”

The former AC Milan player then went on to discuss what it was like to play alongside both Barella and Jorginho in the Italian national team midfield in their 2-0 UEFA Nations League win over Poland yesterday night.

“Playing with him and with Jorginho is wonderful, we had a lot of fun. It was a good match.”

Barella is into his second year with Inter and has went from strength to strength during his time with the club and has firmly cemented himself as one of the best Italian midfielders out there.

The 23-year-old, who is contracted to Inter until 2024, has made 10 appearances across all competitions to date this term for Inter, in which he has provided four assists for his teammates.
