Roberto Gagliardini is preparing to play from the start for Inter in this weekend’s Serie A match at home to Torino according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

After being sent home from the Italian national team after returning a doubtful COVID-19 test result, he returned a negative test result when tested by Inter and the results of the molecular test conducted yesterday are awaited.

Gagliardini is back at the disposal of Inter manager Antonio Conte and given the absence of Marcelo Brozovic, who has COVID-19, Gagliardini is likely to start.

Alternatively, Radja Nainggolan could be deployed from the first whistle at San Siro. He has worked intensely during the international break in the hope of getting a chance.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to add that Inter are paying close attention to Andrea Pinamonti and his condition. The Italian youth national team player returned with a swollen ankle and is currently a doubt for Sunday’s match.

Stefano Sensi is meanwhile increasing his workload in training and in the next few days he will return to group training, hoping to be included in the squad for Sunday’s match.
