Roberto Gagliardini will likely take the place of Marcelo Brozovic in the Inter midfield in this weekend’s Serie A match versus Torino according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Brozovic is due to miss the match at San Siro due to testing positive for COVID-19 whilst away on national team duty and Gagliardini seems to be the player who will replace him.
Gagliardini finds himself in this position even though Radja Nainggolan is training well in the lead up to the game and is hopeful of a chance from the beginning versus La Granata.
Brozovic will not be the only player to miss the match due to COVID-19. Aleksandar Kolarov, who became the ninth Inter player to test positive yesterday, will also miss out.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that Inter players to have tested positive for COVID-19 have missed a total of 20 games between them.
