Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has confirmed that coveted young midfielder Nicolo Rovella will sign a contract renewal with the club.

Rovella’s current contract with the Rossoblu club is due to expire at the end of this season but as per Preziosi, a new contract will be signed.

The highly rated 18-year-old, who is already part of the Italy under 21 set-up, has earned rave reviews for his performances this term and has drawn links to a host of clubs in recent weeks and months, including Inter and Juventus.

“The renewal will take place,” Preziosi explained in an interview with Genoese news outlet Il Secolo XIX.

Rovella is regarded as one of the best young talents out there at the moment in Italy and whilst he looks set to sign a contract renewal, he looks equally as set to go right to the top. He has made five appearances across all competitions to date this term but has made no goal contributions.
