Inter manager Antonio Conte would be ready to sit around the negotiating table and discuss a contract extension with Inter if the Nerazzurri club were to offer him one according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

This prospect seemed almost unthinkable just a few months ago when Conte’s future was right up in the air after the Europa League final loss and several public outbursts around that time.

There has however been a turnaround and there is now a will to extend Conte’s contract past it current expiry, which is at the end of next season. In short, the meeting between Conte and club management at Villa Bellini was decisive.

Since that day Conte’s attitude has completely changed and has been the perfect example of corporatism. Despite the financial problems brought about due to COVID-19, club management have tried their best to satisfy the 51-year-old.

They brought in Achraf Hakimi, Aleksandar Kolarov and Arturo Vidal but did miss out on N’Golo Kante although this report claims it was impossible for Inter to sign him.
