Inter pair Danilo D’Ambrosio and Alessandro Bastoni are in contention to be included in Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad for next Summer’s European Championship’s according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.
Whilst there appears to be some players practically certain of a spot amongst Mancini’s squad for the tournament, there are some places in the squad up for grabs with several players competing for several positions.
D’Ambrosio is in contention with Napoli’s Giovanni Di Lorenzo to be one of the full backs Mancini takes with him to the tournament whilst Bastoni is battling with Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini and AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli for one of the centre back slots.
Manuel Locatelli and Sandro Tonali are meanwhile contending for one of the central midfield roles and the report goes on to conclude that Domenico Berardi, Stephen El Shaarawy, Federico Bernardeschi, Moise Kean and Nicolo Zaniolo are all fighting it out for the wing roles.
