Inter attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen has insisted that he and his Danish national team teammates have to learn to be more cynical following their 4-2 defeat versus Belgium in the UEFA Nations League last night.

Denmark went into the game in Belgium knowing they could finish top of their UEFA Nations League group with a win but in the end Eriksen and co. were beaten and Belgium have went to the UEFA Nations League final four at their expense.

“We can learn a lot from the cynicism of Belgium, if you want to get to certain levels you have to have cynicism to decide games. It is the one thing we miss,” Eriksen explained in an interview with Danish television station Kanal 5, following on from the match at the King Power Stadion At Den Dreef.

He then went on to reflect on the past year that the Danish national team have had and shared his belief that they are on the right track at the moment.

“It’s been an exciting year anyway, since Hjulmand became the manager. Obviously there are a lot of new things that we are learning.

“But I really think we are getting a good part of what he would like from us. Now we just need more results, but we’re on the right track.”

This season the 28-year-old has made seven appearances across all competitions to date for Inter but has not managed to make any goal contributions.
