Inter owned Sebastiano Esposito has insisted that the most important thing for him during his loan spell with Serie B side SPAL is to play.

Esposito had somewhat of a first team breakthrough at Inter last season but given the arrival of Andrea Pinamonti, Esposito’s playing time prospects appeared limited for this season and as a result he was sent on loan to SPAL for the duration of the 2020/21 season.

“I prefer to be deployed alongside a first striker, but the important thing for me is to play. All the roles suit me,” Esposito explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.

The highly rated Italian youth national team player then went on to add: “I always have maximum commitment, regardless of what the coach asks of me, but we attacking players, we are very happy with Marino, because he gives us freedom. It is nice to have room for our imagination.”

Esposito, who turned 18-years-old back in July, is a product of Inter’s youth academy and is under contract with the Nerazzurri club, who have high hopes for him, through to the end of the 2024/25 season.

Whilst with SPAL, Esposito has made eight appearances but he has been unable to make any goal contributions as of yet when on the pitch.
