Inter are preparing to make a contract offer to Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Maksimovic’s contract with Napoli is due to expire at the end of this season and with a contract renewal seemingly far away, Inter are readying a four year contract offer to propose to Maksimovic and his representatives.

Whilst there is still over half of this season still to go, Inter are already thinking about next season and Maksimovic could be one of the reinforcements brought in.

The 28-year-old has been with Napoli since the Summer of 2017 following a move from fellow Serie A club Torino. He has made 76 appearances in the time since for the Stadio San Paolo outfit, in which he has scored two goals and tallied as many assists.

This season the former Red Star Belgrade player, who has 25 caps for Serbia, has made four appearances across all competitions to date.
