Inter pair Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen both starred for their respective national teams when they faced off against one another last night according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lukaku grabbed a brace in Belgium’s 4-2 win over Eriksen’s Denmark at the King Power Stadion At Den Dreef with him scoring Belgium’s second and third goals and was a leader for the Red Devils, who are now in the final four of the UEFA Nations League.

Although Eriksen never scored in the match, he performed on a whole other level to the Eriksen seen in the last 10 months in Milan since he joined Inter from Tottenham Hotspur and dragged his teammates along.

The former Ajax player has really struggled to live up to expectations at Inter but every time he has pulled on the Denmark shirt since his arrival at Inter he has performed well and looked very much like the player Inter were expecting to get.

Lukaku has made eight appearances across all competitions to date for Inter this season, in which he has scored seven goals. Eriksen has meanwhile not made any goal contributions in his time on the park this term.
