Everything is currently on standby as far as a contract renewal for Lautaro Martinez at Inter is concerned according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Due to travel restrictions in place because of global pandemic COVID-19, things have cooled but the report claims that in the coming days the parties will hold further talks over a new deal.

As per the report, the parties will address the €111 million release clause in Lautaro’s current contract, which runs to the end of the 2022/23 season.

Inter have plans to increase the release clause in a bid to price Juventus out of possibly making a move to sign him in the upcoming Summer transfer window.

Lautaro joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Racing Club back in 2018 and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young strikers out there at the moment. He has scored five goals and tallied two assists in 10 appearances this term.
