Inter could make a move to bring Napoli central defender Nikola Maksimovic to the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Serbian player’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season and he is far away from signing a contract extension with the Partenopei club.

Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso would like Maksimovic to renew his contract but there is some distance in talks with Maksimovic’s agent Fali Ramadani understood to be seeking a salary increase from €1.2 million a year to €2.5 million a year.

The report goes on to explain that the good relations that Inter have with Ramadani could help facilitate the arrival of Maksimovic at Inter.

Maksimovic particularly intrigues Inter due to the fact he will be a free agent in the Summer and because he would have no particular difficulty in adapting to Inter manager Antonio Conte’s three at the back system.
