Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos has sustained a hamstring injury ahead of next week’s crucial Champions League group stage match away to Inter, Los Blancos have confirmed via an official statement posted on their club website.

The experienced Spanish central defender picked up an injury whilst representing Spain and tests conducted today by Real Madrid’s medical staff have diagnosed the injury as a strained hamstring in his right leg.

Real Madrid have stated that his condition will continue to be assessed and Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it have added that at this stage it is clear that it will be very difficult for him take to the pitch on Wednesday evening at San Siro.

The 34-year-old, who has been with Real Madrid for 15 years now, scored the last time the sides met and should he be unavailable for Wednesday’s match it goes without saying that it will be a huge blow for Real Madrid.
