Former Inter and Italian national team striker Antonio Cassano has shared his belief that Inter will go on to win the Serie A title this season.

As things stand, Inter are currently lagging behind with them sitting in seventh place in Serie A after seven games played and trailing first place by five points.

Despite the start Inter have made, Cassano is strong in his belief that Inter will be the champions of Italy come May.

“The Scudetto will be won by Inter, they have the strongest squad and are coached by the best coach in the league, which is an added value that could prove decisive,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based newspaper.

He then went on to share his thoughts on other teams, namely reigning champions Juventus and current league leaders AC Milan and Atalanta.

“Pirlo has valid and captivating ideas, he still needs some experience and I doubt that AC Milan can continue at the pace they have played at recently. The outsider will be Atalanta, as long as Ilicic can recover 100%.”

Cassano was then asked who he believes is the most decisive striker in Serie A this season: “Ronaldo and Lukaku are part of super groups. At the collective level, AC Milan have something less and therefore what Ibra is doing takes on even greater value.”

Cassano spent the 2012/13 season at Inter. In 39 appearances across all competitions for the club, Cassano scored nine goals and provided 15 assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
