Noted Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has stated that Inter players who starred during the international break now have to express themselves as best they can back at Inter.

“Lautaro scored in Argentina’s last match, Eriksen scored twice and Vidal also scored with Chile three times in two games. Lukaku then scored an important brace for Belgium and Barella is doing very well with Italy,” he began an interview with Italian news outlet ToroNews.net.

“Now the players will have to express themselves at their best even with the club after a start that has not lived up to expectations and here the role of Conte comes into play.”

Biasin then spoke on Christian Eriksen and whether or not he would like to see him stay with Inter amid the Danish national team attacking midfielder’s ongoing struggles.

Eriksen arrived at Inter in the January transfer window from Tottenham Hotspur but has struggled to perform to expectations during his time in an Inter shirt. In 33 appearances across all competitions to date, he has scored just four goals and tallied three assists.

“Eriksen? I hope he will stay because in the national team he seemed to be recovering, however his statements were quite clear.

“Human relations with the coach are good but the two are not good from a tactical point of view. I think that one of the best coaches in the world and one of the best midfielders in the world could find a solution for the good of Inter, but at the moment it is more a hope than anything else.”

In conclusion Biasin was asked whether he thinks Inter could heavily rotate their team for Sunday’s match with Torino due to their upcoming Champions League clash at home to Real Madrid which is crucial for Inter’s chances of progression in the competition.

“At this moment there is no turnover because the five substitutions allow you to change the line-up in the match if necessary. I think the coach will start thinking about the Real Madrid match after the match against the Granata.”
