Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar all impressed during the international break whilst playing in a back four, suggesting that it could be an option for coach Antonio Conte, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how all three defenders were key players for their respective nations during this international break and all played in a four-man defense, despite regularly playing in a three-man defense under Conte.

The 51-year-old Italian coach could consider implementing a four-man defense with the Nerazzurri, the report continues, something that he has tested in the past.

All three players clearly showed that they are comfortable in that system, and it could help the side shore up their shaky backline.

So far this season, Inter have conceded 11 games in seven games in the league, keeping a clean sheet only once, a significant departure from the strong defense which was seen last season.
