Inter coach Antonio Conte is planning to start Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez alongside Romelu Lukaku against Torino today, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach is wary of the upcoming Champions League clash against Real Madrid next week, and so wants Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez to be in top physical condition for the match.
As such, Sanchez will start today against the Granata alongside Lukaku, the report continues. In training yesterday, Conte noticed that the Argentine forward was slightly more tired than the Chilean, due to his extra effort with the national team, and so is not taking a risk.
The 31-year-old Sanchez, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made seven appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 251 minutes. In that time, he has failed to score but has provided two assists.
