Italian journalist and director of TeleLombardia Fabio Ravezzani discussed Inter coach Antonio Conte’s statements about Christian Eriksen given in a press conference yesterday in a post on his Twitter page.

The 51-year-old Italian coach was asked about the 28-year-old Danish midfielder, who recently publicly commented on his lack of playing time in Milan.

Conte responded by highlighting how the former Tottenham man had been given multiple chances, more than some other players.

The former Tottenham midfielder seems destined to leave Inter in the upcoming January transfer window, with the club hoping to swap him for a defensive midfielder, like Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka, according to several reports.

Ravezzani discussed Conte’s statement on Eriksen, saying:

“True, but that’s not the point. He is considered to posses excellent quality. You cannot dismiss him as one of many players.

“Either you believe in him and insist, or you sell him and enough. This seems to be the coach’s decision.”

Eriksen, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has made seven appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 301 minutes.

In that time, he has failed to particularly impress, not contributing to a goal or matching Conte’s required intensity.
