Christian Eriksen departing Inter in the January transfer window could pave the way for a new midfielder to be brought in according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Under the right conditions, whether it be an important offer coming in or an exchange with a player of the same level, Eriksen could leave Inter and this would enable Inter manager Antonio Conte to add a new midfielder to his ranks who is more suitable for his team.

Inter have been linked with a host of midfielders in recent weeks and months from Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante to Paris Saint-Germain’s Leandro Paredes, the latter of whom has been suggested by many media outlets as a player who Eriksen could be exchanged for.

The report meanwhile goes on to report that Inter hope to recover a midfielder in Stefano Sensi. Sensi has suffered lots of injuries since joining Inter and the medical staff hope to have him available for this weekend’s match with Sassuolo.

If he comes back in good condition, then the Italian national team player could become a fundamental part of Conte’s team.
