Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso’s agent Vicente Montes has revealed that he has not directly spoken with Inter amid ongoing media speculation linking his client with a potential switch to Inter.
Current Inter number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is now 36-years-old and out of contract at the end of this season and speculation regarding a long term replacement is rife and Musso is just one of a number of shot-stoppers seemingly on Inter’s radar.
“Juan is a super professional. It is no coincidence that he came back so early from his meniscus injury. We know how important he is for his teammates at Udinese,” Montes explained in an interview with Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
“The team needs him. He is one of the leaders of the group. He instils confidence. He makes himself loved and now he is helping the team to earn points.”
Montes was then questioned about the alleged interest in his client from a host of clubs and has revealed that his client is not fixated on a move to a big club.
“The whole football world knows him. We are talking about the Argentina goalkeeper. Juan wants to continue growing with Udinese, confirming himself among the best in the Serie A role and fighting for a starting place in the Albiceleste.
“We are convinced that the Friulians can have a good year this year then of course we will analyse the market opportunities.
“For Juan, signing for a top team is not an obsession. Although I do not deny that various Italian teams, but also Spanish and English, have inquired about him and they’re watching his progress but this is logical.
“Musso is a great goalkeeper, with a bright future. We will see what happens in the future.”
Asked specifically about Inter’s interest and whether he has had direct contact with any Inter executives he responded: “The rumors about Inter are periodic and insistent, so much so that he is defined as the goalkeeper of the future of the Nerazzurri.
“Have I spoken to the Inter executives? Not directly but having spoken to agents and people who move in Inter’s circles, they have told me that he has emerged as a player they really appreciate.”
Montes then went on to share his confidence in his client’s ability and revealed that he thinks his client is indeed ready to play for a big team.
“Juan is prepared to play for his place in the team with anyone. He is at a top level. He admires and appreciates Handanovic very much, he respects him. Musso is ready for a big club whether it’s Inter or a top European club.”
In conclusion Montes was asked about the kind of price that clubs could expected to pay to take his client away from the Bianconeri side.
“Udinese have given the player a valuation of €30 million. This is precisely because of everything that is happening, everything in the whole world will have to be analysed again.
“The Friulians will have to examine the market situation, the offers received for the player and the boy’s wishes. Everything will have to be proportionate and adapt to the circumstances of the present.”
