Radja Nainggolan could possibly return to Cagliari according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Nuova Sardegna.

The Belgian central midfielder spent the duration of last season on loan at the Rossoblu club, who tried until the very end of the last transfer window to try and bring him to the club on a permanent basis.

In the end Cagliari could not agree terms with Inter over the former Roma midfielder and Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini implied that they would not be making an attempt to sign him in January but that could possibly change.

The reason for this is Inter have shown an interest in signing Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno and have already made an enquiry about the Italian shot-stopper.

Inter want an option to be able to sign Cragno and Cagliari could possibly be able to bring Nainggolan back if they make such a sacrifice.
