Inter wish to sign Alessandro Bastoni to a new contract and the player himself is also open to a renewal according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Prior to yesterday’s 4-2 win over Torino, Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta stated that the club will reconsider Bastoni’s current pay packet as they value him.
Bastoni had his first team breakthrough last season at Inter and although contracted to the end of the 2022/23 season, the salary he currently earns does not reflect the status he now holds in the squad nor the level he is currently playing at.
After the match the new Italian national team player admitted that everyone is willing to renew the contract but he is focused on doing well out on the field of play.
The highly rated 21-year-old, who joined Inter back in 2017 from Atalanta, has made eight appearances this term, in which he has tallied one assist.
