Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli has admitted that he and is teammates are aware of their strength and that they annoy everyone ahead of two big games with Inter and Roma.

Sassuolo are surprisingly sitting in second place in the Serie A table after eight games played with 18 points to their name, two points less than current league leaders AC Milan.

The Neroverdi club have taken many by surprise with the way that they have performed at the early stage of this season and they are one of only three clubs in Serie A yet to taste defeat this season alongside the aforementioned AC Milan and current reigning champions Juventus.

“We know that we are strong, that we annoy everyone. We enjoy the day. We are first, we have not stolen anything,” Consigli explained in an interview, as quoted by FCInterNews.it, following on from Roberto De Zerbi’s sides 2-0 triumph over Hellas Verona, that temporarily had them sitting top of the table before AC Milan played and won.

“We have suffered, now there will be Inter and Roma, teams more used to filling the place we have but the field will tell us who will be the best.”
