Inter club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has stressed that he and his teammates will play the remainder of the Champions League group stage before summing things up.

Inter have not started how they were expected to in the 2020/21 edition of the competition with them having registered two draws and a defeat in their opening three matches.

The Nerazzurri are therefore sitting bottom of group B and have three games left to play, including two matches at home, the first of which comes tomorrow night against Real Madrid.

“There are still three games left, first of all, then we will do all the evaluations. If we talk about the matches we have already played, then I say that we can complain more than the others can.

“We will finish the group and then we will sum it up,” he explained at the pre-match press conference which was held a short time ago.

Next the veteran Slovenian shot-stopper, who has guarded Inter’s goal since 2012, was asked why Inter have conceded so many goals this season.

“When you concede a lot of goals there is always something to worry about, then you have to analyse things and understand how the opponent scores.

“Everyone plays all closed against Inter and their goals come from our carelessness or from counter attacks. In my opinion there are things that can be improved upon.

“Obviously there is concern when the numbers are not on your side, we must fix this if we want to raise the level.”

Handanovic was also asked if he was bothered by the criticisms that Inter have been subjected to after their start to the 2020/21 season but opted to pass the question on to manager Antonio Conte.
