Inter club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has stated his belief that Inter need two wins and a draw from their remaining three Champions League group stage games if they want to make it past the group stage.

Inter head into tomorrow night’s Champions League group stage match with Real Madrid sitting bottom of group B having collected just two points from a possible nine available to them from the three games they have played thus far.

“To get to the next round we need seven points, there are three games left and everything is at stake,” he began an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast a short time ago.

“The importance of tomorrow’s match is fundamental. In these games you need everything, everyone increases in level.”

He then went on to reflect on the previous meeting in the group stage between the two sides which Real Madrid ran out 3-2 winners in.

“In the first leg we played well, but unfortunately in football the episodes make the difference and at times we complicated our life by ourselves, we have to be better at this.”

The veteran Slovenian shot-stopper then went on to stress something that he feels he and his teammates need to learn to understand with regards to how opponents play against them.

“I think we have to understand that when teams play against Inter they give something more and sometimes our competitive nastiness was not the level of the other teams.

“When it is not, the others can put you in difficulty and in this beginning of the league it has already happened three or four times.”
