Inter manager Antonio Conte has revealed what attitude both he and the team must display in tomorrow’s crucial UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

“The attitude we must have is one of concentration, humility and determination, we must do things at maximum with the will to overcome the opponent,” he began an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, which was broadcast a short time ago.

Conte then briefly reflected on the reverse fixture between the two sides which Real Madrid won 3-2 and called for his team to improve when it came to the number of goals that they have been conceding.

“We have no other routes. It is a shame to have lost in the first leg, even if due to our negligence we conceded three goals.

“Surely from this point of view, if we want to be competitive up to the end, we need to improve in this because it is now becoming a habit.”

Next he was asked what must be done differently to that meeting between the sides at the start of this month and he responded: “We need to improve in situations where we have conceded goals. It’s up to me and the players to do it, being more attentive, focused and hungrier.

“We have to improve because we create and score goals during matches, but we have to be good at defending with a knife between our teeth, getting our hands dirty and struggling even when not in possession.”

In conclusion he was questioned about the fact that he and the team have had little time to prepare for this match and what his team must show.

“There is not much time, but after the previous matches we have references to look at as well as videos to give precise directions. We have to show that we have more desire to win than the others.”

Inter versus Real Madrid is scheduled to kick off at 9pm local time tomorrow.
