Inter and Moroccan national team wing-back Achraf Hakimi’s wife Hiba Abouk has shared her belief that Inter manager Antonio Conte is the perfect manager for her husband.

In an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition, she started by speaking on her experiences at San Siro and who she and her husband have gotten close to in their time in Milan so far.

“I’ve only seen two matches at San Siro before the total closure. For now Achraf has been close with Lautaro and I with his girlfriend Agustina,” she began the interview.

She was then asked what happened when the opportunity for Achraf to move to Inter came about.

“We discussed it in the family, but the decision was up to Achraf. It is his career. He wanted a club to be happy in and he found it. I admit that when I heard Milan, my eyes lit up. I love this country.”

Next she was asked what she has made of her partners performances in the Nerazzurri shirt thus far and her thoughts on Inter manager Antonio Conte and how he is suitable for her partner.

“When he returns home I count his mistakes. For me, in that position he is the best in the world, but he has to work and still has a lot to improve on.

“Conte is there for that. He is the perfect coach to draw the best from him. In Spain, we have a saying that goes he is like a ring on your finger, he fits perfectly.

“I listen to what my husband says about him. He is demanding, intelligent and prepared. Achraf likes him very much and, part of the reason he chose Inter was also for Conte.”

Next she was asked if the negative results Inter have had lately have taken her by surprise to which she responded: “A little bit yes, even if I admit that I am only now discovering Serie A.

“Until recently I specialised in La Liga and Bundesliga. It only takes time, in the end the fruits will come.”

In conclusion she was asked if tomorrow night’s Champions League group stage clash with Real Madrid will be a special one for her husband given his past at the Spanish club: “It’s special for Achraf. There has been a different atmosphere in the house for days and he wants to make up for it.”
