Noted Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has shared his belief that this Inter side perform at their best when there is an imbalance in games.

Inter fell 2-0 behind to Torino on Sunday afternoon having played very poorly for the best part of an hour but sprung to life after the visitors second goal.

Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez scored in quick succession which restored parity between the two sides and then Inter went on to perform much how they were expected to and finished the game 4-2 winners in the end.

“Inter don’t play well so long as the game is normal, as long as it has a logical technical profile. They work best when there is an imbalance,” Sconcerti began his analysis of the match in his latest column which appeared in Monday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

“They then closes the frightened opponent in the box and make the most of their physical strength and the quality of great players without personality.”

He then went on to add: “That’s when Lukaku area comes out and is unstoppable in the assault. Why he doesn’t know how to do it before is quite evident.

“Inter are slow and too unbalanced, the 3-3-4 of Conte brings numerical superiority only when playing in the other half of the field. In the open field it is the opposite, the opponent always has more men.”

With the win over La Granata, Inter jumped from seventh place to fifth place in the Serie A standings but continue to trail league leaders AC Milan by a total of five points.
