If Lautaro Martinez performs well versus Real Madrid tonight it is inevitable that Inter will accelerate contract renewal talks with him according to a report from the online edition of Spanish newspaper AS.

Lautaro is currently under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season and Inter want to double his current €2.5 million salary as part of a new deal. Inter also want to change the terms of the €111 million release clause that is in his current contract with the club.

The reason Inter want to change the terms of the release clause is because Barcelona remain interested in signing him despite the current situation in the world which has had a massive impact on money in football.

This season the 23-year-old Argentine national team player has made 11 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals 751 minutes, he has scored six goals and provided two assists for his teammates.
