Inter president Steven Zhang has celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations being establish between Italy and his native China.

The Chinese businessman has been handed an award for his contribution toward the relations between the two nations in the past few years.

He took to photo sharing social media platform Instagram, where he has slightly over 500,000 followers, to share an image of himself being handed the award and he captioned the post with the following message.

“Thanks to Italian Government for this amazing award. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and Italy. We will continue to contribute for this great friendship between two great nations.”

Zhang has been involved at Inter for just over four years now. His father’s company Suning purchased Inter from Indonesian tycoon Erick Thohir back in the Summer of 2016 and Zhang has been the president of Inter for just over two years now. The 29-year-old is the youngest president in Inter’s rich 112 year history.

Zhang is also part of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee as well as the European Club Association (ECA) Executive Board.
