Despite their poor start to the campaign, Inter manager Antonio Conte remains convinced that his Inter can compete for the Serie A title this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Inter have won just four of their first 12 games across all competitions to date this season and despite this poor start, Inter have no intention of removing Conte from his managerial position.

After the defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League group stage on Wednesday night, Conte made a sort of call to arms to the players and called for them to never give up, turn things around and do so without any drama.

In the match versus Real Madrid, there were just two new players in the starting line-up in Arturo Vidal and Achraf Hakimi, both of whom were disastrous.

The report also goes on to add that Christian Eriksen is on the transfer list and so long as he remains he will be a cumbersome presence for Conte, who is having to defend himself amid the poor results and criticism about sticking with one system.

Some fans are calling for Conte to resign but he is not thinking about it. He is convinced that things can be turned around and Inter can be contenders for the Serie A title.
